Child profile information: First name, age, and character preferences (provided by parents only)
Usage data: Stories created, reading progress, and app preferences
Subscription data: Subscription status and plan type (payment details are handled by Apple/Google)

Children's Privacy

Your Story Time is designed for use by parents with their children. Only parents can create accounts. We do not collect information directly from children. All child profile information is provided and controlled by parents, who can delete it at any time.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate the app and website (hosting, authentication, story generation, payment processing, analytics, and advertising measurement). We may also disclose information if required by law.

Cookies, Analytics and Advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. These help us understand how our website and app are used and measure our marketing. We never use children's information for advertising.

Analytics (PostHog): We use PostHog to see how visitors use our website and app, such as pages viewed and features used, so we can improve them. This data is processed on servers in the European Union.
Advertising (Meta Pixel): We use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram ads and to show relevant ads to people who have visited our site. If you submit your email address, for example to join our newsletter, it may be shared with Meta in hashed (irreversible) form to help match you to a Meta account for ad measurement.

You can control cookies through your browser settings and manage ad personalisation in your Meta account settings, or opt out of interest-based advertising at youronlinechoices.eu.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption and secure cloud infrastructure to protect your information.

Your Rights

You can access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time through the app settings or by contacting us. You may also request a copy of your data.

How to Delete Your Data

You can delete specific data without deleting your account:

Delete a child profile: Go to Settings → tap the child profile → Edit → Delete profile. This removes the profile and all associated stories.
Delete individual stories: Stories can be removed by deleting the associated child profile.

How to Delete Your Account

You can delete your account and all associated data directly in the app:

Open the Your Story Time app
Tap the profile icon to go to Settings
Scroll down and tap "Delete account"
Confirm deletion when prompted

What gets deleted:

Your account and login credentials
All child profiles you have created
All saved stories
Reading progress and achievements
App preferences and settings

Important: If you have an active subscription, please cancel it in your App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) settings before deleting your account. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription.

Data is permanently deleted within 30 days of your request. You can also request account deletion by contacting us at support@your-storytime.com
